Luging and a French Birthday Party

Say 'Hi' to snow, luging and a French Birthday!! As I go on these adventures, come and follow me.

Last Saturday, I went to a friend's birthday party for some French fun. I was the second guest to arrive, everyone was talking and laughing about me. It was making me very nervous. We went upstairs to Claire's bedroom to play on her drum kit and see her play. She's really good! Then another friend arrived and we put our presents on the table and played upstairs again. Soon another girl arrived and she put her present on the table then we played 'Just Dance' on the Wii, which was very fun. Soon the other girl had arrived and we were geared up to party! The mum got all the treats ready and we had a feast of biscuits, marshmallows, lolly assortments and of course the birthday cake!

The cake was a foam inside (we didn't eat the inside) and there were toothpicks stuck into the cake with lollies stuck on the toothpicks. It was really pretty. All that and coke and orange juice!! Afterwards, we played a game of Scattergories. You pick a letter and then write for example country, name, object or movie starting with that letter. It was like a normal party!!

On Sunday we went luging (tobogganing) on Mt Ventoux with our friends, Elisa and Raphael, which was fantastic!! We drove all the way up the mountain and looked at the beautiful landscape. We stopped at a lookout on the way. We drove to Chalet Liotard for a first class toboggan track out the front!! Veeerrrry impressive! Soon, we were straight into it. We whooped and screamed all day going down the slope and then having to walk up, (the skiers next to us got a pommel, why not us, hmmm UNFAIR!) After a little bit of tobogganing we went inside to some water and we got some energy from the fire and raced outside to some "faster tobogganing".

The others had said I was too slow :( so I was the 1st one out to beat the boys and I won loads of races then and did NOT use the breaks 1 time!! It was soon lunchtime and I ordered chips and sausages. Lunch was delicious. I ordered another bowl of chips because I was so hungry. I finished that and ate chocolate mouse with whipped cream for dessert. That was heaven.

After everyone had finished lunch we went outside again for more tobogganing. At the end of the day we were exhausted and satisfied with our day so we drove home to a warm shower and a warm bed.

All together it was a wonderful weekend!!

We have a little visitor in our house right now. Pom Pom the little rabbit. He is very cute, he has grey fur and BIG bunny rabbit eyes. A couple of the people in my class have already met him....

Pom Pom is staying because some of our new French friends went on a holiday for 2 weeks and we asked if we could look after him and they said yes!!!

This afternoon mum and I cleaned his cage. We tipped out all the dirty contents. Then sprayed some detergent and got scrubbing. After we rinsed it and dried it and put in his sawdust so he had a lovely home and added some parsley as a treat. So he was very happy.

Now he is running around and is sitting on the fire place, sitting on the brushes and pokers, chewing the net, pretending Santa's about to fall down the chimney AND staring at me (talk about a multi tasker ha ha)!!

Pom Pom wants to go to sleep now so i'm going to have to say "goodbye" see you next time.

Life

Life in France is going well. Everyone is settling in and we are all happy :)
We only use our car if we go somewhere that's not in town. On Friday night we went to a dinner party, we met some friends there and sat together chatting about school and France. We also listened to music on Elisa's i-touch!!
Yesterday at 2 o'clock, Tiffany and Kinsey came over and we went up into town (by ourselves) to the Bell Tower and then went back to the school (l'ecole) for a walk and....... Kinsey and I found out that Tiffany had some money in her pocket so we walked back into town and bought some lollies to share!!!!! They were sooo good! I had some gummy bears and these raspberry lollies, delicious!
Then we met up with this other girl who lives right next to the school and she was pushing a pram so we took turns pushing while walking to the school and went back home. Kinsey had to go home and we walked to the school AGAIN to play on the field and looked into the music room and then it was time for Au Revoir and I went home to a banana and hot chocolate for my afternoon's worth of energy.
This morning we were up at 8 and eating breakfast and gone by 9 to the markets at L'isle-Sur-La-Sorgue for a look around. There was everything you could imagine; antiques, books, scarves, clothes, knives, but best of all the CHEESE STORE!!! I had 2 samples; 1 was 6 months old. It was good but the 18 month old cheese proved that if you keep cheese for a long time, that they ARE delicious.

See you next time :)
